10th October 2005: Jazz at St Denys

Eddie Double introduces Mick Burns at the St Denys Jazz event

The Jazz at St Denys event at Sleaford parish church raised a donation to the NOrMAL Appeal of more than £220 - and members of Sleaford's classical Music Club say they will be holding a collection at their concert on November 11th.

Organisers of NOrMAL say they are proud and pleased with the positive local response to help professional musicians in Louisiana get back on their feet.

Says co-founder John Coops: "I know other natural disasters are occurring, but New Orleans has a special place in many people's hearts and the generosity of Sleaford people shows that. We're in this at least until next summer, or until musicians of all sorts in New Orleans have put their lives back together."

Offers of assistance are coming into the NOrMAL website and are spreading outside the county. South Yorkshire events took place at the weekend too, and venues across Lincolnshire and Cambridgeshire are discussing future fund raising events with NOrMAL.
